I just finished Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I thought it was going to be cheesy, and I’m glad that I was proven wrong.Contrary to what the title seems, it is not a guide to dating Goths…lol. It actually a novel with great world building, storytelling, and characters. I loved the character of Lucius when he first shows up with his regal and condescending tones and educated speech. Jessica, aka Anastasia, started out a little whiny for me, but it fit with the story and as her character changes, that, I was pleased to see, changed as well.With a storyline that is action-packed and captivating, but at the same time, light, fun, and fit with the times, it was definitely a pleasurable read.Anyone who likes YA vampire fiction should pick this one up and give it a chance.
