Find more of my reviews at http://www.readingangel.comI really loved Down To You by M. Leighton, so I had some high expectation for Up To Me. Maybe that is why it ended up falling a little flat. I ended up being disappointed in the way several things were handled. What Worked For Me:Cash! Cash is still the sexy, bad boy with a twist that he was in Down To You. That dirty mouth of his alone could keep me happy. I love that he fights hard for his relationship with Olivia, to keep her safe, and for his family. He is really just a great guy all around, and yet still so dirty….purrrr.Gavin. Cash’s BFF gets called in to help handle some of the dirty business and let me tell you, that man could come handle me any day of the week. He is suave and sexy and skilled. He is definitely my favorite character from the entire book. Can we get a book all about Gavin, please M. Leighton?!?!What Kind of Worked For Me:Cash and Olivia together. I think their relationship grew at a good pace. Olivia was really getting on my nerves at the beginning with her constant insecurities, but I understood why she had them. While their sex lives were still hot, I just don’t think they sizzled together like they did in Down To You until the very last scene. What Didn’t Work For Me:The Reactions. There is a very big surprise reveal. I’m not going to say what it is, because that is obviously a very big spoiler. If you read the book, you will know exactly what I’m talking about. When Nash returns My problem with it was Cash’s reaction, or lack of one. It completely took me out of the story. I mean, there is no way that man wouldn’t have had a much more powerful reaction to that!Another reaction was Marissa. I understood why she made the changes in herself that she did during Up To Me. What I don’t understand is why she suddenly understands certain things? Did she understand them? Why was she clinging? Why did she just suddenly understand who Cash really was and cling to the real Nash. It seemed like she understood that...sigh... I’m still very confused with that whole thing and think her reaction was just plain WEIRD! I just need more clarity with a lot of things that went down, and not in the next book, in this one! While I may have been a little disappointed, due to my high expectation and the things that bugged me, I still ended up enjoying the book and I will be picking up book three. I know that I probably won't have the expectation for three that I did for Up To Me though. If you are already a fan of Down To You, or if you enjoy a mystery/suspense mixed in with your romance, than I would still recommend reading this one.Favorite quotes:"I remind myself that it's completely unfair to judge a book by it's cover. No matter how much experience I have with similar covers. Cash's cover might be that of a bad boy, but the book, the inside is so much more.""I'm just happy to see your hen house being taken care of by such a fabulous cock."
